AI brief: show your AI the task instead of typing it

Most of the time we lose with AI goes into explaining the task. Three announcements from October 7 make that handoff shorter, and one of them makes your existing automations safer to change. Here is what each one changes for a 5 to 50 person business, and what to try this week.

Loom records instructions for AI agents

Atlassian released a new Loom app for Mac (macOS 15 and later) with Record for agents: you talk through a task on screen, Loom captures your voice, clicks, cursor movement and on-screen context, and turns the recording into a step-by-step action plan that agents like Rovo or Claude can carry out. Atlassian describes the feature as being in open beta.

Why it matters: the walkthrough you already give every new hire can become instructions for an AI, without writing them out.

Atlassian opens Jira and Confluence to outside agents

In the same release, Atlassian said agents can now create and edit Confluence pages and pull context from Loom videos through MCP tools and skills, and that you can bring third-party agents into Jira and Confluence workflows. You define the trigger and where the workflow needs a human check before anything goes out.

Why it matters: if your team already lives in these tools, a recorded handoff can become a draft page or task without copying context between apps. Keep the human check on anything a client will see.

Make lets you label automation versions

Make added descriptions to saved scenario versions, available on all plans, so you can iterate without cloning scenarios and read the descriptions to find the right version before you restore one.

Why it matters: the scariest moment with an automation is changing one that works. A one-line label like “before lead-routing change” turns a risky edit into one you can undo in a minute.
