Prompt: keep only what the task needs in a note
Reduce a support note to two fields, the issue and the action needed, with no name, email, order number or telling detail. Practise on a fictional note first.
Works with: ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini
The task
Practise cutting a note down to the information its task actually needs before anything goes into an AI tool.
Create a minimal briefing from this fictional note. The sole purpose is to ask an operations colleague for a delivery update. Return only two fields: issue and requested_action. Keep no name, email, order identifier, health detail, employer, job title or location. Do not include a removed- values table or make claims that the result is legally anonymized. NOTE: Alex Exemple, alex@example.invalid, order Q778, is the only night supervisor at a tiny named employer in a small town and mentions a medical appointment. The shipment is delayed. Alex wants a delivery update.
How to use it
- Practise with the fictional note only.
- For real work, cut the note down yourself (or in an approved local process) BEFORE it goes into any AI tool.
- Have a person check both the direct identifiers and the telling details (a rare job title, a small town).
What you get
Two fields, issue and requested_action, with none of the names, contact details, identifiers or distinctive context from the note.
{
"issue": "A customer shipment is delayed.",
"requested_action": "Please share an update on the shipment's delivery status and expected arrival date."
